LNE Datasheet pdf – Quadruple Half-H Drivers – Texas Instruments
Since you’re going to drive a motor you will want to use clamping diodes to catasheet inductive spikes darasheet the motor killing the output transistors in the chip. Email Required, but never shown. I see too, that the the D can only handle mA compared to 1A. So presumably they serve some other protective purpose? I thought they might be the ones everyone knows about connecting across an inductive load when switching it with a transistor, but the data sheet says both varieties are good for inductive loads The L is an integrated circuit motor driver that can be used for simultaneous, bi-directional control of two small motors.
See notes below for a two Arduino pin solution. Assume you have only one motor connected with the enable tied to Arduino Pin 3, and the two direction controls tied to Arduino Pins 4 and 5.
The pinout for the L in the pin package is shown below in top view. Unsure about whether the L will work with your motor?

Pick the “D” version because it has built in flyback diodes to minimize inductive voltage spikes. LD has output clamping diodes for inductive transient suppression while the LNE does not. Actually i just want to control dc motor rotation direction, it turn left or xatasheet So, the tutorial i found in this link below http: If it gets too hot to touch, you can’t use it with your motor.
James there are some diodes in the normal are they not the ones that protect against inductive spikes?
Each motor takes 3 Arduino pins. Tutorials on that site are have been known to be wrong. Sign up using Facebook.

The L is limited to mA, but in reality can only handle much small currents unless you have done some serious heat sinking to keep the case temperature down.
There is an L and an LD part number. Note that the names for pin functions may be slightly different than what is shown in the following diagrams. Sign up using Email and Password. The most common method to drive DC motors in two directions under control of a computer is with an H-bridge motor driver. I prefer going to an ICs datasheet: Johannesburg hams call me: Capacitor Expert By Day, Enginerd by night.
Personally I still use external diodes with the D.
The L is simplest and inexpensive for low current motors, For high current motors, it is less expensive to build your own H-bridge from scratch. Help me please and datashewt you so much for your attention. Pin 1 is at the top left when the notch in the package faces up.
Quadruple Half-H Drivers
Hook up the circuit and run your motor while keeping your finger on the chip. H-bridges can be built from scratch with bi-polar junction transistors BJT or with field effect transistors FETor can be purchased as an integrated unit in a single integrated circuit package such as the L Sorry for my poor english. The following schematic shows how to connect the L to your motor dataheet the Arduino.
Them D has built-in protection diodes.
